Here are the some different way to join defense service of India after completion of Engineering so its great field your going to select but it is very difficult to get job after engineering in defence because you should have mental ability, physical ability and so on.
1)CDS
2)INDIAN ARMY EXAMS
3)AFCAT
4)INDIAN NAVY
1)CDS
Combined defense service exam which held twice in the year based on your preference and your marks you will be given post army , navy or air force.
Candidates have written test and interview by selection board.and if finally selected then all India merit list will generate baste on marks and caste if you got selected you will sent to training school for training.
2) Indian army exams
Here Indian army cunducts the exams for Indian army itself
A)TGC: Technically graduate course, this will be conducted twice in the year and 21-26 age with engineering graduated student can apply and no exams will be there and just direct selection and if shortlisted you will be in the training for an year

B) SSC- Technical: its is similar to TGC entry but the main difference is that it is for short service commission and not for permanent commission. Both male and female candidates can apply for SSC- Tech entry which is conducted by Indian army twice every year.
- Age Limit: 21- 26 Years as per the notification.
- Education Qualification: An engineering degree as per the notification.
- How to apply: One must apply online only for SSC -Tech entry through http://joinindianarmy.nic.in
C)NCC SPECIAL ENTRY- Engineering students with NCC ‘C’ certificate can apply for this entry as and when the notification comes.
- Male and female candidates (Males married/unmarried and females unmarried), who have completed 2 years of service in NCC Senior Division Army along with minimum of ‘B’ grade in ‘C’ certificate examination.
- Educational Qualification: Graduate and above, final years are also eligible with minimum 50% in aggregate in graduation.
- Age: The candidate’s age must lie between 19-25 years at the time of course commencing.
The Territorial Army (TA) provide excellent opportunities for employed young men to join the Indian army and earn the glorious uniform. This is also helpful for one to full fill his dream of becoming an officer and joining Indian army if he wasn’t able to do it earlier with regular entries.
3)AFCAT
Indian Air Force has publishes notification for the recruitment Commissioned Officer vacancies for Grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying & Permanent Commission (PC)/Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Technical &Non-Technical) Branches through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)
Yearly twice the notification comes
here engineer can apply flying, technical and even for the ground duty
for the flying and technical you will have separate exam based on your engineering stream which is known as EKET exams and then once exams finishes you will have AFSB interview 5 days interview if you cleared then if you shortlisted for merit list based on your performance and your caste you will called and you will sent to training.
NAVY EXAMS
NAVY themselves conducts exams and you will have exam and once you clear the exam you will called for SSB exams then if you performed good and if shortlisted for merit list then you will be under training program of navy .
